We Make Gear
We Make Gear is the production arm of We Make RI, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit. We Make RI helps disadvantaged Rhode Islanders find gainful employment, whether they are new to the workforce or struggling to re-enter. Our “classroom” is a hands-on work environment, where trainees learn the skills they need to succeed like: teamwork, quality control, and managing production flow. They achieve this through actual means of production, working in our gear factory. Every purchase made from our We Make Gear shop helps someone get back on track, by building their confidence and work skills.
In 2023, we placed over 100 individuals in full-time jobs, offering them with the means to provide for themselves and their families, grow the workforce, and enrich their lives. Our goal for 2024 is to increase that number, and we need your help.
